Stars, meditation and dunes: Tom Thumb's annual desert pilgrimage
6 Apr 2013
As-salam alaykum! For the fourth instalment of his desert adventures, founder of Road Junky, writer, nomad and Third Eye friend TOM THUMB returned to the Sahara desert. In an intimate group of 20 souls from around the world, the journey through Morocco led to the small village of Hassi Labied, in Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga in southeastern Morocco, before joining the Road Junky canopy in the desert dunes. Over a week, the Road Junky Retreat forms an ephemeral community in the desert, with storytelling, music, meditation and Moroccan cuisine under the desert skies. This year workshops of meditation and aikido were led by Durward Burrell, Dance Expression by Giusi Tavilli, and music by Tom Thumb and David Spivack.
