Ori / The Cage (1962-69) Directed and written by Shuji Terayama. Colour, Silent, 16mm. 11mins.
Avant-garde Japanese filmmaker, poet and playwright, SHUJI TERAYAMA explores our relation to time in this experimental and surrealist short film. Introducing a succession of symbols, Terayama searches for fragments of non-linear time. Shot in 1962, the film cast of characters was almost entirely the same as the film crew.
